Hello Folks!
I hope you and your loved ones are doing well. As your child/children work on the educational opportunities presented to them by their teacher, please remember that this can look different for all learners. The key is that student engagement must be meaningful and enjoyable. I have also included the link for this week’s school Mental Health and Wellness page. Be kind to yourselves and others while navigating through these uncertain times. Early Learning and Elementary – Fostering Positive Family Relationships
In addition, we are beginning the process of organizing our students into classes for next year. We go to great efforts to ensure that all children are placed in an optimal educational setting. The factors that we must consider in organizing our classes are numerous and our success largely hinges on receiving accurate information from all partners early on in this process.
Classes will be developed through discussions and meetings involving all teaching staff, educational assistants and administration. The school will aim to finalize class lists on or before Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
Parents who wish to have input must convey their thoughts in writing by Monday, May 4, 2020. Please focus on the learning needs of your child/children rather than requesting a specific teacher. Please send your request to (csanderson@sd61.bc.ca). Such information will be used as one of the factors the school team will consider when creating classes. For families who have children currently in the grade 4/5 classes, some movement may be necessary. We will contact you if this discussion needs to take place.
I have attached a special hello from all of us here at Rogers. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z2HzJoQx7bE9J4yKjpwNyWMG9joAvGiL/view?usp=sharing
