SD61 Parent Survey on Child Care needs

Dear Families:

I hope you and your loved ones are well. We continue to focus on mental health and wellness during these times and I have included a link offering strategies and tips.Community Sharing  Ensure you take the time to reduce stress and find ways to stay healthy and happy.

On Wednesday, Premier John Horgan announced BC’s Restart Plan which will lessen some community restrictions and enable schools to expand in-class instruction in schools across the province. Our district anticipates that more essential service workers will be working outside of the home and will require childcare.
As we plan for more children entering our schools for rotational in-class instruction, we need to determine how many essential service workers require us to provide childcare. Please take a few minutes to participate in this survey to help us prioritize essential service worker occupations, identify the schools your children attend, and share important considerations. If you are already receiving school care through one of our schools, you do not need to participate.

During the week of May 19th, all staff will return and more children of essential workers will attend. Further details will emerge later this month for all students to be invited to participate in an adapted rotational in-class instructional school experience. Please refer to our Superintendent, Shelley Green’s letter to families.  08 May 2020 – Superintendent Letter to Families (002).pdf
